Week six is approaching, and already the NFL landscape is changing. Sports bookies have adjusted their Super Bowl odds accordingly, and I'm here to break it down for you. I'll let you know which teams are legitimate contenders, which are smoke and mirrors and who deserves more respect. All odds are taken from betvega.com.

The Favorites

Dallas Cowboys, 3-1: Buyers beware! This is not the team to invest your money into. Everything looks good on paper, but there are problems underneath the surface. Tony Romo, for instance, comes from the Brett Favre school of thought of heaving the ball into the air recklessly to avoid a sack. He may be the most talented quarterback in the NFC, but he is near the bottom of the list in quarterbacks I trust to put together a game-winning drive.

New York Giants, 10-1: This team has everything on offense. Great quarterback, great receivers, depth at running back and a big blocking tight end that is still a vertical threat in the passing game. Not to mention the offensive line, which has been outstanding all year. Who would have thought that in Eli's fifth season, he would be the best Manning in the NFL? His growth in the past 10 months has been phenomenal. As long as this defense holds up and avoids injuries, the Giants have as good a shot as anyone to take home the Lombardi trophy.

San Diego Chargers and Denver Broncos, 10-1: Two teams to stay away from, no doubt. Denver may have one of the three worst defenses in the NFL, while the Chargers are one of the most inconsistent teams in the league. One of these teams will make the playoffs, but its appearance will most certainly be short lived.

The Dark Horses

Green Bay Packers, 12-1: Who came up with these odds, I don't know. Ryan Grant has disappeared, Aaron Rodgers has so far been average and this defense is ravaged with injuries to the point where they are using practice-squad players. Avoid putting money (or pride, whatever you choose to bet) on this team.
